the higher that I go in grace, everything below is smaller

grace. the thing that I need most these days. this journey is beyond difficult at times because we are talking about behavior changes. when I first started, the first 10lbs seemed so far away. honestly I don’t remember when I lost them. that bag of sugar that I ridded myself of was difficult. but I had a secret weapon, that at the time I wasn’t even aware of.
grace is the free and unmerited favor of God. meaning, I ain’t worthy, but He thinks I am worth it.
because of His grace, I am able to move with gracefulness as I transition to a healthier me.
his grace has been and always will be sufficient for each and every issue that I ever encounter. as I go higher in him and his unmerited favor and love for me, every single perceived problem (you know the things that cause us to freak out) in my life becomes minute. what used to seem like a mountain is now a molehill. 100lbs might as well be 10. because I now understand that I don’t have to do any of this alone.
we were promised a comforter that would guide us into all truth – the holy spirit. with him as my guide, I can maneuver like never before. I am able to do all things through Christ that strengthens me. exercise and eating right is a choice. and I have the free will to make the wrong decision. but in coupling faith with action, I know that there is grace for me to complete this journey with God doing exceedingly and abundantly above all I can ask or think.
in one of my favorite songs Crowns & Thorns (Oceans) by KB; he says “and I’m learning when I’ve, flown flights make my respect much stronger| the higher that I go in grace, everything below is smaller. i'mma steward this well…” now that is my mission – to steward my body and mind well, letting his spirit lead mine. and because of that, I can no longer sit in obesity and illness because of my own choices. that my friends, is not a very good steward.
move gracefully through your journey as you allow him to grace you with his free and unmerited favor.
scripture that keeps me grounded::
2 Corinthians 12: 8-9 - Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me. But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.
James 4:6 - But he gives us more grace. That is why Scripture says: “God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble.”
Romans 11:6 - And if by grace, then it cannot be based on works; if it were, grace would no longer be grace.
